Dr. Clark Johnsen

Dr. Clark Johnsen is a Board-Certified psychiatrist and psychotherapist in private practice in Manhattan (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology). He completed his psychiatry training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell, where he was selected as a chief resident and is now a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. He is currently a candidate in training at the Columbia Psychoanalytic Institute. He holds a New York state medical license and offers medication management as well as individual, couples and family therapy.

Prior to his career in medicine and psychiatry, Dr. Johnsen had a successful Broadway career, performing in the original casts of The Book of Mormon and The Addams Family and performing in national touring productions of Mary Poppins, Mamma Mia, 42nd Street and High School Musical.

In his practice, Dr. Johnsen works with a range of psychological difficulties, from depression and anxiety to panic disorder, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. He connects with individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of repetitive patterns of behavior, relationship difficulties, major life transitions and a broad range of personal challenges. Dr. Johnsen also has expertise in working with individuals who identify as LGBTQI+ and individuals from highly religious backgrounds.
