Board-Certified Psychiatrist

Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis

  • In our first meeting we will discuss your treatment history as well as your current goals and expectations for our collaboration. After our initial evaluation, I will share my thoughts on what I feel will be most beneficial, and together we will then create a personalized and comprehensive psychotherapy treatment plan. I typically draw from psychoanalytic theory and practice but also employ cognitive-behavioral techniques as well.

  • Psychoanalysis is the great great grandparent and the foundation from which all modern western psychotherapies have derived. Modern day psychoanalysis moves beyond Freud and into more contemporary views of the therapist/patient relationship and can be transformative for individuals who wish to gain a deeper understanding of their personality and repetitive patterns of behavior that show up time and again. Psychoanalysis is also a possible treatment for individuals who struggle with a sense of chronic emptiness, unhappiness or lack of fulfillment. In sum, it is a deep and powerful treatment that carries the potential for profound transformation.

  • Drawn from my experience and training as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, and based on my meaningful clincical experience working with leaders in finance, legal industry, the medical field and technology, I bring a distinctive approach compared to traditional executive coaching. My work focuses on developing a deeper and more meaningful understanding of your identity, personality structure and your typical patterns of relating with others. We will expand your effectiveness by combining this knowlege with a more meaningful understanding of those with who you work closely to best achieve your personal, professional and organizational goals.

Couples and Family Therapy

  • The goal of couples therapy is to assess the active dynamics in your relationship, the goals of each individual and come to a shared understanding of the unique challenges in your past and present life as a couple. Typically I will meet with each individual early in the treatment process to get a better sense of each person’s specific perspective, and then we will work together to further understand and improve your relationship dynamics if possible.

  • The aim of family therapy is to assess the needs of each family member as well as the collective and dynamic challenges specific to each family unit. Together we will seek to understand the unique challenges of your family and I help will create clear expectations for respectful and honest communication. Our work will focus on fostering a more cooperative family environment.
